We were in Ludington for the GusMacker basketball tournament and I was parked on the grass in an alley way by the Pier House Hotel. There were signs that said we could park there and we asked the owner of the hotel and he said we were parked fine. I received a ticket for PARTIALLY blocking the ally. The owner drove his truck thru the ally, the cop, office Kuster admitted that he drove thru the ally and yet he still wrote the ticket. Half of my back drivers side tire was on the pavement. That's it. Half of a tire. When I called the cop was rude and he stated that's enough to write the ticket, you were in violation. A complete lack of common sense in situations like this is why people don't like cops. Did he write tickets to everyone that spit on the sidewalk also? Its too bad that this cop has a lack of common sense and logic. I will choose to stay away from Ludington and spend my thousands of dollars on vacation in another place. Kuster should realize that tax dollars is what pays his salary including that of this hotel. When I tried to explain the situation I was told that I could fight it and the process is that I have to come back to Ludington for the day and the case would be heard by a magistrate ( that probably works with cops every day) and the fine would double if I chose to fight it. Heck of a system Ludington!!!
