The gift shop was nice with some souvenirs and waters and sodas and snacks for sale.

Worth the walk! Just fyi, the 1.8 mile walk from the campground is flat BUT not as stroller-friendly as I'd hoped. There is some pavement but lots of sand and some of the sandy patches are a bit hard to push through. A jogging stroller probably would have been much easier! I got a workout.

We walked a few steps down to the water near the lighthouse. There are a couple picnic tables down there too.

A great little hike out to one of Michigan's most beautiful lighthouses. A must do if in the Ludington area. And don't cheap out, invest the $5 and climb to the top. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful views. $5 if you want to climb the light house. One trail through dunes is a bit more challenging than the main path.

The spiral staircase to the lighthouse gets low in a couple areas as you near the top. All people must be walking on their own to ascend (no baby carriers) and must be 40" tall.

Volunteers were very nice. They show a 3 minute video, optional, about the history of the lighthouse. There are some artifacts around too.

Best lighthouse around! Second tallest lighthouse in Michigan and you can walk to the top for a minimal fee. Worth every dollar and step to the top. The view is breathtaking.

What a fantastic day this was hiking to the lighthouse. Hike is about 2 miles on foot the the lighthouse. You can take the beach or the trail. Trail is better. It's worth the hike as the views are breathtaking! Also, don't forget to pick up your lighthouse passport so you can collect stamps and keep the lighthouses running!

There are sand dunes bordering the trail, my older kids loved running up there in areas.

Very neat experience!

A few benches along the walk to stop and rest. A restroom too.
